Lovely local pub, just far enough off the beaten track to avoid the masses of Angel. Very good selection of beers and a very relaxing atmosphere. Cosy in winter and in summer lovely to sit outside of. Haven’t eaten food here recently but in the past definitely above standard pub grade.

Great place, loved it since the beginning. Went there for dinner with friends and I have to admit I wasn't expecting such good food. The place is very cosy and the fish we had was very well made, definitely a nice touch of Italian food. They also had the Italian Spritz which was a novelty to my English friends and it's probably a must try.

Welcome

A decidedly lovely corner pub in the back streets of Angel, the 170-year-old Charles Lamb is a dainty delight in cream and pastel green.

Named after the Georgian writer who lived locally, there are few finer pubs in which to curl up in the corner, on a quiet afternoon, and dip into a classic novel.

The Charles Lamb offers an ever-changing range of ales, but also boasts an admirable wine list.
